Safety Increases Efficiency and Lowers Costs
At Flagship safety is one of our primary jobs. Our Management and Supervisory constantly measure our safety level because it keeps employees productive and costs down.
We make safety everyone’s job, not just the safety officers. Safety is an on-going part of Flagship’s culture. Our Supervisors and Customer Service Managers meet on a monthly basis to discuss our current accident trends, dollars, and claims that are currently open. Managers and Supervisors are then trained on the safety topic for the month so they can train their direct employees.
Senior Management meets on a weekly basis to discuss every claim open as well as trends, dollars spent, accidents per supervisor and safety training programs.
We keep safety foremost in everyone’s mind and it shows by our excellent record on safety and accident reduction.
Safety Programs
Our approach is to address safety through a variety of programs.
- Monthly, employees are awarded $25.00 gift certificates for working accident-free and entered in our $250.00 monthly raffle.
- Our safety training pays out on average $8,000 per month
- Senior Management & Safety Training Manager meet weekly to review & drive safety program
- Operations Account Managers & Supervisors meet to review safety data, training skills & procedures
- Janitors receive on-site safety review meetings led by their Supervisor
- Each month general safety procedures are reviewed & a specific safety topic of the month is highlighted
Worker’s Compensation Control
Flagship believes that in order for any service business to remain a strong entity they must manage their Worker’s Compensation. This must be managed for two main reasons. First, by focusing on the problems before they arise and become Work Comp issues, we are focused on making your work place safer and a better place to work for your employees and customers. Second, in order to remain competitive you must manage these costs. Therefore, we employ a full time Safety Training Manager. He/she spends their time dedicated to work place safety; morale issues and making sure the employee’s skill are best matched to their cleaning duties. This investment in our Safety Training Program has helped control our Work Comp costs, make our work place safer and made us more competitive than companies who do not formally manage this process. Our managers are focused on work place safety, morale issues, and ensuring employees’ skills best match their cleaning duties. In the end, our customer’s sites are safer and we experience less turn over offering more consistent service to our customers.
